Nick Allen RogerEbert.com As a feature-length rumination on such a devastating sports tragedy, the themes of hope, loss, family, and friendship are all there under the headline, but Blink of an Eye is too narrow to explore them. Rated: 2/4 Sep 6, 2019 Full Review Glenn Kenny New York Times Taublieb's approach is straightforward, but also a little pedestrian. Sep 5, 2019 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times A solidly assembled documentary portrait by sports filmmaker Paul Taublieb. Sep 4, 2019 Full Review Sarah Cartland Caution Spoilers Waltrip is warmly engaging though we only scratch the surface of what caused his losing streak, and the accident's aftermath. The most candid interviewees stand out: straight-talking publicist Brooke Hondros, Dale Earnhardt Jnr, Waltrip's ex-wife Buffy. Rated: 3/5 Sep 15, 2019 Full Review Lael Loewenstein FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This is a surprisingly moving documentary that also taught me a lot about the world of stock car racing. Sep 9, 2019 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Sanitized, unchallenging and uncritical look at the legendary 2001 Daytona 500 that might as well be NASCAR sanctioned whitewashing. Kathy We loved this movie. We had no idea Michael Waltrip was such a good friend of Dale Sr. I only wish it was on more than one night/time slot as many of my friends would have loved to see it also. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/17/19 Full Review Audience Member My wife and I watched this film having only a vague idea of what it was about. We were both pleasantly surprised. We learned things about relationships between brothers and drivers that warmed the heart. If you enjoy NASCAR, I think you will enjoy this film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A fantastic look into Dale Earnhardt and the friends he had around him. This documentary was well directed for the fans of NASCAR. After watching this interview you will never forget the story of Dale Earnhardt. One of the only complaints is that the film has no re-watch value. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Really excellent job all around. Even though the core event depicted is about Dale Earnhardt, this doc did a fantastic job of telling Michael Waltrip's story in a way that he deserves while also honoring all the other parties involved. Absolutely worth your time, whether you are a Dale fan, a NASCAR fan, or neither. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic!!! Amazing story of persistence, friendship, and sacrifice. A true Cinderella story! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member A must-see for any sports fan and a beautifully told story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
