Audience Member Ted V. Mikels has done it again- come up with a provocatively campy title and deliver an incredibly boring film. Never has a director been so adept at squandering a good idea- in this case Mikels manages to take satanic murder rituals performed by scantily clad women and scientists shooting energy beams from their fingers and have it turn out lame. It seems like he enjoys being part of the exploitation film genre but doesn't understand how to actually make one audiences will enjoy. His films, Blood Orgy included, almost exclusively lack graphic violence (campy or otherwise), nudity, humor, creativity, weirdness, or any transgressive spirit. Instead he lures audiences in with posters and titles that promise campy delights but turn out to be pointless snoozefests.
