Despite the good audience ratings, I was not expecting much from a film like this but gave it a shot and I'm happy I did. The story was a good one and the director did a good job relaying the story, the acting was surprisingly good, and the fight scenes and skill level was second to none. The fight scenes were amazing and the lead actor is surely a few short steps away from being cast in a high budget action film. Job well done by all involved! Highly recommended!

This film is an love note to martial artists and action films. I quite enjoyed the film even though it relished in cliques and ahem stereotypes. I would not mind an sequel at all.

If you want to see White's martial arts prowess, see this movie. The man is awesome and I really don't undertand why no one has picked him for a superhero movie (he would be the perfect Luke Cage (Power Man) for Marvel); I know he played Spawn but that was ages ago before the comicbook movie craze.

I have to give it a higher score then I might otherwise just because their inspiration was such a brilliant movie. Hard Times. Such a brilliant character and story, that it was only a matter of time before a film inspired from that classic happened, and given Jai is a true honest badass so it was an honest attempt at honoring that film... It's missing some core elements, but it also definitely has more advanced level of fighting.... it likely could have done with a better director and cinematographer... and the dialogue is often too true to the source, when it should have been updated a little better. But because I loved the original so much, figure 4 stars just for that...
