Chris M Brilliant horror film fueled by parental anxiety about childbirth. Really really great. I can't recommend it enough. You don't root for any of the main characters because of how gullible they are. One of the main characters knows everything is wrong, but goes along with what antagonist ask anyway, because he's afraid to fight back. The best friend of one of the two main characters actually has common sense but doesn't help much, and the ending is so predictable, bleak and unsatisfying that I felt 93 minutes of my time were completely wasted. The movie answers that to the extreme, acknowledging the ludicrousness with self-aware touches of humor. It begins with a slow burn, but when things go off the rails in the third act it’s a wild, delightful ride.
