Bound by Honor contains some effective performances, some moments of deeply felt truth, and a portrait of prison life that I assume is accurate. What seems to be missing is a clear idea of why the movie was made. Go to Full Review

It has an epic sweep to it... Performances are strong, script isn't bad. I wish it wasn't quite so long, but it's a powerful film. Go to Full Review

It was very well rooted in reality, which is something we typically don't see in films like this. It was also rewarding to see things come full circle for our central characters. Go to Full Review

This is a very long movie but the performances elevated the material. Damian Chapa tried his best to lead this but there were some poor acting choices he made that threatened to derail the seriousness of the film. Go to Full Review

The whole movie was outstanding. Yes, there were some scenes that could've been better but over the directing and acting was superb. Outstanding acting from Benjamin Bratt, Damian Chapa, Jesse Borrego and Victor Rivers to name a few of the actors. Hard to believe it's been more than 22 years since the movies release. I do not get tired of watching it. See more Zee F Apr 20 The greatest and coolest prison movie ever made See more J P Jan 26 If you like chicano culture and prison movies this is the one.
