CodyZamboni Cheap, trashy, drive in movie teenage fare. And there's a musical interlude !!!! The goofy vampire looks like Eddie Munster Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/28/23 Full Review John F An interesting take on the vampire tale. The production is old (although not as old as the original "Dracula") and dated by our standards. Worth watching, if only for the one time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/27/23 Full Review deke p another cheapo schlock 1950s 'horror' movie that has not aged well. Acting subpar, seemed stilted. Vampire movie set in modern times, teenagers, etc. Never heardo before saw on tv 6-7-2022 Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review robert p Please watch anything other than this poorly made movie! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member "Blood of Dracula" is an odd movie to say the least. Not necessarily a bad movie, but rather odd. One of the good things to say about the movie is it does have a very good cast. Sandra Harrison does a very good job as the main character Nancy Perkins. Mind you, she does not have much to work with, but she does a good job in the lead role. One problem is the movie does not know what they want the lead character to be. In her opening scene she tries to kill herself as well as her father and stepmother. Then for the rest fo the movie she is seen as an innocent victim of her nasty housemates. Does this movie really want us to route for a character who just tired to commit a double murder? That being said. I believe the rest of the cast does a fairly good job as well. Despite a running time of approximately 68 minutes, the movie seems to drag at times. Especially the scenes of dialogue between the characters. I never thought I would use the word "dull" to describe a horror movie. The scene of the initiation party at the house was interesting to say the least. Who knew that seat cushions also make great dance partners. The song "Puppy Love" was written by the actor who performed the song in the movie, Jerry Blaine. That particular sequence is pretty good. Not fantastic, but pretty good though the song is pure cornball (Just like the 1960 song of the same title written and recorded by Paul Anka and covered in 1972 by Donny Osmond.). In the end, I consider "Blood of Dracula" very mediocre to say the least. It's good if you are looking to pass some time and there is nothing else on television but otherwise I would not recommend it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member BLOOD OF DRACULA (1957). This film would have had it all, if it had been made in 1997 or later... a girls' school (though they appear to be 20-somethings in age), one guy who the girls "share" as their boyfriend (it doesn't say if this is set in Utah or not), an older female chemistry teacher who has lines like "what happens in my laboratory should never be mentioned" (heh heh heh), and predatory male students from nearby (who appear to be 30-somethings, or older). There is no Dracula and very little blood, but this does turn into a musical (just for one song, in the middle) about "puppy love" (which may or may not be a reference to doggie...). The vampire is one of the students who quickly changes back and forth from voluptuous nubile to 1980s-haired goth hag with an extreme overbite.
