Bloomington, I found out, does not take place solely in a condo, but it does take place in a world where subtlety is not a concept that exists. Go to Full Review

Starts promisingly but is ultimately compromised by its characters' shifting allegiances and alliances. Too much of the film is hard to swallow...(Writer-director Fernanda) Cardoso may need to get back to basics academically. Go to Full Review

David-Joe K Aug 16 Movie that starts with a happy momentum & carries all the way through. Catherine, the professor is really likable and mature. Jackie is a work in progress. A movie you'll be pleased you took the time for See more 07/24/2015 The indie film Bloomington is an interesting character drama that follows a young woman's journey of self-discovery and search for independence. Former child star Jackie Kirk goes away to college and becomes involved with one of the instructors, but when she gets a chance to revive her Hollywood career it puts a strain on her relationship. Newcomer Sarah Stouffer gives an impressive performance and has a magnetic screen presence. Also, the writing does a good job at preventing the film from getting overly melodramatic and clichéd. In fact, the story and character development are rather minimalistic. Yet despite been a bit toned down, Bloomington is an entertaining coming-of-age film. See more 09/01/2014 It's a simple story, it reminded me of the movie "High Art" in the way the two characters get involved. Excellent chemistry between Allison McAtee and Sarah Stouffer. It's not a work of art,you need to see it without high expectations. There are several raccord issues, the photography it's not the best but I know they filmed in digital and with a reduced budget so I understand that.To sum up, when we watch a movie like "Bloomington" we have to identify it as a low budget movie with a team that is still learning, but they are in the right path. For all the team involved in this movie I just want to say: Your effort was worthwhile and ... I don't like the ending!! LOL See more 01/05/2014 It's really good! Super hot and realistic, but the editing is not the greatest. Allison McAtee and Sarah Stouffer were great co-stars. I hated the ending even though it would be realistic in the modern day. Overall, it's a great film to see! See more 08/04/2013 Seriously?!? Had me until last four minutes. I actually wanted the romantic ending. Damn you. See more 07/14/2013 Wow...why did I buy this junk? It was great until near the end, the teacher started to act like a mother than a lover. The teacher seemed confused about her sexuality or was just a total "dog in heat" just to keep the girl away from her. Used her basically. See more Read all reviews
