Jane S We have 3 family members who have fished in Alaska. My son lost part of his finger last year baiting and other fishermen have lost their lives. Watching this family grapple with life and death situations seems very real. It also makes me appreciate where my tuna comes from before it is available on my plate. It's an excellent film, with decent production values for its time. A very realistic story about a boy who has to take over and use his wits and stamina when the adults around him are injured.
