Monic Kenya M Jul 7 The script is weak. Story corny. The fake pink flowers in many shots totally made the setting unrealistic. The only real acting effort was by Denise Richards and the only original moment in the movie was the green flash. The popular Emmaline “Emma” Robinson (Indiana Evans) and the outcast Dean McMullen (Brenton Thwaites) are part of the group of students that travel. When there is a party in a yacht, Emma is convinced by her friends to go. When the police stop the yacht and go on board for inspection, Emma falls overboard, and Dean jumps in the water to help her. They embark in the dinghy rescue boat but there is a storm, and they sail adrift. They reach and are stranded in a desert island in Caribe. Now they have to survive alone. Meanwhile, Emma’s parents Barbara Robinson (Denise Richards) and Phil Robinson (Frank John Hughes) and Dean’s father Jack McMullen (Patrick St. Esprit) travel to Trinidad to look for their children. “Blue Lagoon: The Awakening” (2012) is an American movie silly even for teens. The original “The Blue Lagoon” (1980) is not a great movie, but the plot was original in the 80's with children. This remake with teenagers is very bad. It is funny to see the couple spend three months isolated on a Caribbean island eating coconuts, banana and fish only without any burning from the sun; with combed hair all the time; Dean without a beard; and without bags under the eyes. In addition, Emma is an obnoxious and spoiled teenager. The acting is poor and supported by the beauty of the lead couple only. Last but not the least, the conclusion is awful. My vote is four.
