Audience Member Very interesting, and rather easy-going look at the background, process, and some of the players in writing a new constitution for the country of Iceland. That the movie presents a more hopeful look at the process than events probably justified is, perhaps, a strength, rather than a flaw as it invites the viewer to begin thinking about the possibilities in re-writing the rules starting from scratch and with LOTS of input. The movie ends with a simple populace vs. Parliament announcement of the vote on the new constitution which was approved by the people but rejected by Parliament. This makes for a good populist emotional spike, but ignored the low voter turnout and the concerns Parliament expressed about difficulties interpreting the provisions as written. The interviewees are also seemed limited to people who were pretty similar to each other (perhaps those the director was most comfortable with, or vice versa) so there may have been some missing perspectives. The image resolution is pretty low so I'd recommend this for television viewing, rather than theatrical viewing. The movie is well shot, just low resolution.
