This movie was great because Mary Blighe was really amazing. I didn't know who she was at the time, but what a great actress she is. The supporting cast was just as amazing as well. The story was well written, and perfectly directed but... This is about really bad white cops killing an unarmed black kid in a bad way and covering it up - and good thing we had the really really good black cops to find the killer(s) and bring justice to the black kid. Although that was the gist of it, and I hate, hate radical undertones of any type (we have enough in the real world), this movie was just too good to not provide 4 stars... However, Be Warned! It is very violent at times, hard to watch because of what happens to the young black kid, and horribly sad for the two mothers. I had a hard night's sleep after this.
