Audience Member An important, and well told story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member A significant documentary that does not shy away from the traumatic and the controversial. It takes into focus a case of serious social activism for tolerance in inter-racial/religious relations and for overcoming genocide induced trauma in the victims and perpetrators, and their descendants, e.g. culturally and politically informed denial and prejudices. A film rendered with reverence offering some powerful 'epiphany' moments. I recommend it highly. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member very ambitious movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a remarkable project, filmed over a number of years, documenting a Polish man's campaign to bring to light the truth about a pogrom in Kielce, Poland in 1946, after the war. The protagonist, a Catholic Pole, single-handedly reverses the repression of discussion about the massacre in the Soviet era. The film includes interviews with survivors who left for the US and Israel. Driven as much by the effect that this crusade has on Bogdan Biaeck as by the historical record, this is a deeply personal, emotional film. It is engrossing and fascinating for its particulars, but it also holds a mirror to how societies process events and deeds like this. The style of the film itself works well in taking us along this journey. As ultra-nationalism is finding a resurgence in many parts of the world, this film could not come at a more opportune time.
