Anupama Chopra Hindustan Times Bombay Talkies is a unique experiment that works very well. The collaboration between four leading directors suggests a confidence that was rare in the industry even a decade ago. I believe that things can only get better from here on. Rated: 4/5 Apr 17, 2015 Full Review Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express Bombay Talkies fills you with hope. If Bollywood can make a film like this, then it must be doing something right. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 17, 2015 Full Review Tim Grierson Screen International A consistent charmer, the Indian omnibus Bombay Talkies is vibrant and colourful, that rare portmanteau film where the whole is more than the sum of its likeable parts. Apr 17, 2015 Full Review Anna M.M. Vetticad annavetticadgoes2themovies Bombay Talkies boasts of several talented actors and many worthwhile moments – moments of laughter, courage and poignance. It just doesn’t have the jaadu that the movie madaari promised. Rated: 2.75/5 Jan 15, 2023 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV These four stories, each distinct in emotional timbre and visual feel, do present, within their limited ambit, a range of cinematic expressions that are in themselves laudable. Rated: 3/5 Apr 17, 2015 Full Review Srijana Mitra Das The Times of India BT's a good experiment, celebrating movies, mindsets and Mumbai's moods. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I just found out I like Bollywood. This movie is a compilation of 4 half hour stories. A gay man. A man performing a bit part in a movie. A boy who wants to sing and dance and cross dress. A son who embarks on a mission to fulfill his father's last wish. All directed by accomplished Bollywood directors. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Made up of four 30-minute stories, well-crafted and told, reflecting various facets of society in Mumbai. I shall name them 'The Closet, 'The Extra', 'The Dancer' and 'The Murabba' :) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema by 4 excellent directors from current generation of Bollywood storytellers. A must watch on iTunes or rent from your local Indian store. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member a nice attempt and all the four stories try to hit your emotional chord. Personally i loved the work by Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap. Probably one of the sensible works dished out by Bollywood in 2013. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
