Robin Clifford Reeling Reviews "Border Radio," though nearly 25-years old, is surprisingly fresh, still. The music, by notable LA punkers of the time, is done with talent and energy and lends to the hip quotient of the film. Rated: B Aug 22, 2011 Full Review Laura Clifford Reeling Reviews It's a patchy effort that begins in confusion before settling into a rambling anti-road trip which seems like a West Coast response to Jim Jarmusch's far better "Stranger Than Paradise." Rated: B Aug 21, 2011 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews It's Andy Warhol west, humorously and amiably capturing the aimless lifestyle of punk rockers, dopers, hangers-on and idlers. Audience Member This was a huge waste of time. Bad and obvious acting, poor camera work, irrelevant plot breaks, weak script. I was wondering if they actually used a script. Junk. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member pretty bad. makes demands on the audience of a snotty art film (you have to strain to hear the dialog) providing the rewards of an incompetent shaggy dog story (providing a dialog not worth listening to). Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Border Radio bears the influence of Jim Jarmusch. It goes for the same kind of meandering ordinariness that was the hallmark of early Jarmusch classics like Stranger than Paradise. This is a difficult conceit to manufacture, however, you have to have a special eye for it. Either none of the three directors were cut out for this kind of storytelling or there were too many cooks in this kitchen, and so no real direction could be found. Nonetheless,it is an interesting attempt at portraying the post-punk L.A. scene. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The worst! Dull, ineptly acted and dreary. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review s r Unique, independent and raw, basically punk. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Just struggled thru watching thid mish-mash of a film (couldn't call it a movie). If the point of it is to depict the aimless, worthless, inane lifestyle of borderline 'musicians', it goes that. Must have been made to be better appreciated by a stoned brain!
