Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting Despite two talented leads, the loose, fictionalized remix of a true stalker case struggles to strike a coherent balance between comedy and horror, landing instead on a repellent, vapid anti-love letter to ’90s Los Angeles. Rated: 2/5 Mar 14, 2025 Full Review Clint Worthington RogerEbert.com The breathless pace, and all these jagged tonal asides, can leave you feeling more than a little disoriented, especially as they drag Warden further from the toxic romance that’s supposed to undergird “Borderline”‘s central story. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 14, 2025 Full Review Kristen Lopez The Film Maven (Substack) Warden makes the move from the page to behind the camera with Borderline, a feature that doesn’t have the same retro feeling as Cocaine Bear, but still provides some quick and dirty fun in 94 minutes. Rated: C Mar 13, 2025 Full Review Walter Chaw Film Freak Central Borderline is carefully thought-out and laser-focused on the simplicity of its framework while remaining determined to squeeze every last drop of inspiration from it. Rated: 3.5/4 Mar 31, 2025 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Borderline is mostly a fun mess of a movie that had the potential to be something better if the filmmaker had taken things a little more seriously, even the humor. Wiigy A must-see. A hoot and holler with thrills, chills, laugh, the whole kit and caboodle. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/16/25 Full Review miguel a A bodyguard protects a pop superstar and her athlete boyfriend from a determined stalker in 1990s Los Angeles. Pros: Dark comedy stalker/home in asion movie. Samara Weaving is great as always. Really fun performance from Ray Nicholson who chews up every scene he is in. Surprise performance goes out to Alba Baptista who is hilarious. Funny dark humor and surprisingly violent. The third act had me rolling. Cons: Takes a little too long to get going. Nothing really new done here. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/15/25 Full Review Mario F A very good cast held the movie together until it took a nosedive in the third act. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/25 Full Review Ashley P This movie is a 15/10. It was amazing and I have no notes. I don’t care that it’s March, this was the best movie of the year. I have not enjoyed a movie this much in a long time. Absolutely hysterical! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/25 Full Review KIKI D The only reason I watched was for Samara. Unfortunately this was could have leaned on being campier than the discombobulated hot mess. We have a stalker that is psychotic and obsessed, which they could have maybe added a little more background. The security guard and his family stuff could have been throwback vignette and felt like filler to give us some feels. The star is Samara but it felt like she was a supporting character in her own movie. It felt like they could have given us a bit more of her star power as to why she's this enigmatic Sofia that has some deeper issues with lovers of the moment. Jimmie Fails' character Rhodes was sorta giving Denis Rodman but he made the character have a little more depth. Ray Nicholson's Duerson character is giving psychotic and made things believable even if they were a bit unhinged and could have fallen flat with the wrong actor but he kept things up. Alba Baptista's Penny was giving Miss Celine Dion fanatic girlie. She really knew how to throw shade. I would have liked to know more about her. I wonder if she was in love with Duerson, it felt like she was. If you watch, you might want fast forward the filler side plot since it felt like it was added because there wasn't enough story. I think the writer should have had other people go over the script and make changes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/29/25 Full Review tm11999 M so, in popular culture, (movies/TV), all blond girls can't wait to procreate with sub saharans? in the real world, because the globalist left is writing nearly every film and commercial, real caucasian females wouldn't dream of allowing this. in fact it's creating GEN Z and GEN alpha as the most right wing humans as could ever be created. other than that this story about spoiled rich people and crazy people losing control is rather silly. agent smiths' daughter is quite appealing. meh............go mow the lawn instead.
