Sasha H A film documentary that is a captivating and moving tribute! I've eagerly anticipated Born In A Ballroom since watching the trailer. I wasn't disappointed...I was transported. This gem of a documentary by #coatofarms is a celebration, a symphony of dear people whose great conductor was Eleanor Fahrner Mailloux, a woman possessed with enough energy and passion as to leave a legacy worthy of preservation. A line from one of my favorite songs is, "We all want to belong to something more than ourselves." This line resonates with me something fierce. Helvetia is a tiny rural community, but there is nothing small about her people, her energy, the open arms you cannot see but feel welcoming you home. The first time I went to Helvetia I remember feeling that I finally found that 'something' that was bigger than me, that 'something' I wanted to belong to. That 'something' is the possession Eleanor Mailloux speaks of. It's difficult to find words to do the feelings justice. Go. Take it in. Let Helvetia wash over you and fill up your soul. Jack Gibbons 'Solace' was haunting, said more than words ever could and brought tears, joyous tears at the pleasure of hearing such beauty. Born In A Ballroom was masterfully directed, a beautiful tribute that was captured at every angle by the one behind the camera. The lighting, the music, the tender moments...thank you Clara Lehmann and Jonathan Lacocque for sharing this magic with the world. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/29/22 Full Review Audience Member This movie beautifully captures the heart of a unique Swiss village in central West Virginia. Its well thought-out storyline, from start to finish, was skillfully filmed and edited. The piano on the back of a flatbed truck traveling through town was rare creative genisus and the highlights of traditional Swiss costumes were delightful feasts for the eyes. It is my opinion this movie is a cultural treasure and a must see for lovers of history or anyone who enjoys a good story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
