James Croot Stuff.co.nz So while Born Racer is an excellent primer into the world of IndyCars, unlike say Asif Kapadia's Senna, it falls short of being an essential portrait of a sporting legend. Rated: 3/5 Oct 25, 2018 Full Review Francesca Rudkin New Zealand Herald Those who love motor sport will lap all this up... And if you're not a fan you'll still leave with a new respect for IndyCar racing, and appreciation for what Dixon has achieved. Oct 24, 2018 Full Review Liam Maguren Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) Thankfully, the film isn't a simple 90-minute padding of his life story, choosing to use Dixon more as a centre point for exploring the absolute death-tempting madness of the sport itself. Audience Member If your a fan of racing you'll enjoy this. It was alright as far as documentaries go, but it kept you interested the whole time and didn't feel like it was dragging on at any point. It emphasized the danger and extremely slim margin of error for drivers in professional racing as much if not more than actually following Scott Dixon. Racing fans should give it a try. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/03/21 Full Review Audience Member If you previously thought Scott Dixon seemed "robotic" this movie will only enforce that. The only emotion in this movie is his wife whining about pit stops . As a movie, it's a loose story poorly put together around the back half of a season. They make it seem like the only reason Scott loses a race is his pit crew sucks. You don't finish 10th because one stop was 2 seconds slow. It's taken me about 4 different sittings to get through this, it doesn't engage the audience at all. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This Indycar documentary was pretty good. The entire crew did a great job of giving an inside look of Indycar driver Scott Dixon, his team, and the sport in general. It was pretty interesting to learn why these drivers love racing and the crashes in this movie were pretty intense. If you're a racing fan, you'll enjoy this documentary. If not, you may enjoy it. That's my opinion. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Incredible- how can any human drive at those speeds- 5g's on the corners/ 200 g's In crashes - incredible !!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member As a fan of Indycar racing, my opinion may be slightly biased. The documentary chronicles the highs and lows of driver Scott Dixon and the Chip Ganassi Racing Team during the 2017 Indycar season. The documentary provides a glimpse into the life of Scott Dixon from his youth through present day. You see a side of Motorsports that you can't experience in a TV broadcast of a race. Highlights include a more behind the scenes look at Scott Dixon's crash during the 2017 Indianapolis 500, the emotions that followed and the team rebounding a week later. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A beautiful movie about man and machine. Proof that Racecar drivers are pure athletes. A must watch for sports fans and racing fans a like.
