Scott Tobias The Reveal (Substack) There’s plenty of Denis poetry and ambience in Both Sides of the Blade, but there’s red-in-the-face screaming, too, brought about by the unresolvable ache of loving two people at the same time. Rated: 4/5 Oct 3, 2022 Full Review David Jenkins Little White Lies A film to ponder, argue over and, in the end, weep salt tears over. Rated: 5/5 Sep 8, 2022 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au Both Sides of the Blade is love and fury, enticement and repulsion. In the grand passions of the heart and in art, the two are often inextricable. Rated: 4/5 Sep 3, 2022 Full Review Maxance Vincent InSession Film Both Sides of the Blade isn’t as impactful as it should be. Still, the film is an impeccable showcase of how terrific Vincent Lindon and Juliette Binoche are as actors, and are able to chew up the screen and make the most of their time together. Rated: B- Mar 6, 2024 Full Review Hector A. Gonzalez Loud and Clear Reviews Both Sides of the Blade tells a pandemic adjacent story of a love triangle and the ripples of misguided and candid love. Rated: 4/5 Feb 10, 2024 Full Review Greg Carlson Vague Visages Be it film, novel, poem or song, the triangle is one of the most frequent tropes in storytelling. Denis is such a gifted moviemaker, though, that cliche is absent from the precise and specific moments inside her intelligently constructed universe. Jul 27, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

w donald s Very slow. Disjointed. Stories werent followed thru. Characters took action totally at odds with how they been presented Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/10/22 Full Review Ghederick Eshmont There very well may be people in the world that resemble characters in Claire Denis films…but no matter, each time she releases a film, I have a difficult time spending two-hours with them. Vincent Lindon follows up Titane with another powerful performance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/09/22 Full Review Alec B I'm not entirely convinced that all of the themes churning around here come together but boy is this well acted. Everyone is playing the subtext of every scene perfectly. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/24 Full Review dave d Claire Denis made a film that is a mess. There's nobody to root for as most of the characters are painted as distant. There are some loose ends that aren't explained and that's ok, but the third act is so unrewarding that it makes you regret watching the parts that led you there. There is a sense of dread that makes the viewer think there could be something violent about to happen. The music lead is ultimately frustrating. Juliette Binoche is wonderful. What about these random racial statements? What was the purpose of the add on to the family? Many questions, but there will be no answers that matter. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/19/23 Full Review Sportstil D Very bad and pure in content. Romantic drama? None of that. Drama, triler? What? The purest lemonad. Doesnt contain an,thing that would place thiy film in the mentioned categories. A lot of holes in the script and story. Very pure. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/09/22 Full Review Read all reviews
