Audience Member Great film! Intense, funny and technically brilliant. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member You either love or hate independent films. I liked this one. Some very clever ideas. Interesting performances by the men. All of the women left something to be desired. I am now a huge Danny Gavigan fan. Some incredibly funny lines and well executed by Mr. Gavigan. Great news... only 87 minutes. It's worth sitting through once it gets going. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member It's really difficult to understand what some of the characters are saying. Them accents be thick. On a more serious note, this is the first feature film I've seen that takes place in real time, which is ensured by the utilization of one continuous take throughout the film (actually around 10 shots cut together very well to create that illusion). It's really cool. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member If you think Gus Van Sant has tendency to meander through scenes then this movie might not be for you. Quiet, intense, drama that if you let stew long enough will suck you right in. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Boxing Day is not your average movie by any standars. The story is about Australian ex con who tries to make up for his family all his past mistakes. The script acts nicely as a moving force of the movie while not revealing too much details of the characters, which in this case, works very well. The directing is top notch also, one cannot but admirer the archievemnt of directing the whole movie in one go. As the director mentioned, this movie is 99% actors and they deserve all the credit, very convincing acting. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Intense. Not the most complex of story lines, but the way it was filmed is pretty clever, in real time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
