Simon D I think this film really suffers from it literally being a film. It shortens the story so badly it is just another failed low-budgeter this is kind of sad seeing that the book is one of my favorite (and also one of the only books) that I read. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/08/24 Full Review christopher l Lost memories, survival instinct... This feels like a low grade Bourne Identity copy without the Bourne. The poor kid is more interesting without his memories than with. He is so nerdy it feels we landed in the wrong movie. The flashback effect didn't leave much lasting impression, and doesn't set up the story well enough to grasp the essentials. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The film starts interestingly with some music that has the usual depth one expects from a film from the Netherlands. Acting is strong with great characterisation and emotions that is compelling throughout. The lighting and photographic artistry is to be complemented but is spoiled by the overuse of the shaky camera syndrome in the beginning which thankfully got less as the movie progressed. The story is not unique and has lots of the usual clichés, such as beating up transport police etc. Music is typical modernist as one gets use to in such films however, does add depth to the situations as they appear on screen. Entertaining for teenagers and the artistic. Nibbles: Carrots with dip. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member so boring. I lasted for 30 min maybe Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member very good special effects, the story was backed up throughout te movie, never leaving me lost, i was at the edge of my seat a couple times, cross between bourne identity and hunger games Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Another teens' resisting adults' institute story adapted from best-selling book into film -- from Holland, this time. Entertaining, but formulaic. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
