Wealthy businessman Martin Holt (Jeremy Spenser) suffers severe injuries in a plane crash and is discovered by two scientists who are staying at a nearby farmhouse. Dr. Peter Corrie (Peter Van Eyck) and Dr. Frank Shears (Bernard Lee) have been performing brain experiments, and when they see that Holt's body is beyond repair and his brain intact, they decide he's the perfect candidate. Holt's brain survives outside his body and starts transmitting thoughts to Corrie about a possible murder.
