It would be ridiculous to pretend that Hepburn doesn’t look utterly divine in that iconic little black dress, but the beauty of the costumes is overshadowed by the presence of Mr. Yunioshi, a horrifically racist caricature

If this was just a silly romantic comedy, it would be completely forgettable, but the story has some meat on its bones, and the the performances by Hepburn and Peppard make this a movie worth watching, at least once, just to see why it is so famous.

I would like to rate it higher, but „Asian" Mickey Rooney is the ultimate no-go … whitewashing at its peak. And however critiques struggle to explain it, the main score „cowboy"-song is a catastrphe in this setting, no matter what it refers to.

don't waste your time unless you want to get lung cancer from the constant smoking and watch overly absorbed people fixate on how much money they have, along with meaningless conversations going nowhere. Although I suspect that that was the meaning of the film, shallow people with money trying to find meaning with superficial sex.

Definitely a must see if your into romcoms. Even if your not it's easier to watch than the new ones. Besides the white guy playing a stereotypical Asian man, this movie is pretty flawless. A good story that heavily focuses on two main characters feelings and personalities. Would watch again and recommend to anyone, though watching it again I realized it's a little bit risque in theme so I don't think kids should watch it .
