What to Know

Critics Consensus

It contains some ugly anachronisms, but Blake Edwards is at his funniest in this iconic classic, and Audrey Hepburn absolutely lights up the screen.

James Breen Sight & Sound It can be faulted as a narrative and it doesn't take a serious moral view. But the people who querulously insist on such points have clearly not surrendered to Miss Hepburn's magic spell. Jul 10, 2018 Full Review James Powers Hollywood Reporter An unusual love story, glamorous, sophisticated, with more than a touch of the bizarre. Oct 3, 2015 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian Well, the movie still looks very good, and you'd need a heart of stone not to love the cat. Rated: 3/5 Jan 20, 2011 Full Review Zita Short InSession Film It would be ridiculous to pretend that Hepburn doesn’t look utterly divine in that iconic little black dress, but the beauty of the costumes is overshadowed by the presence of Mr. Yunioshi, a horrifically racist caricature Feb 1, 2023 Full Review Robert Roten Laramie Movie Scope If this was just a silly romantic comedy, it would be completely forgettable, but the story has some meat on its bones, and the the performances by Hepburn and Peppard make this a movie worth watching, at least once, just to see why it is so famous. Rated: C+ Jul 29, 2022 Full Review Frank J. Avella Edge Media Network Hepburn's captivating and style-defining performance as Holly Golightly cannot be underestimated and gets better with age. SkyDawn It's a classic and now I know why. Made me laugh and want to cry. Loved it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Patrick Katherine Hepburn & George Peppard were terrific in this classic film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/22 Full Review m this is a great classic movie, Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/22 Full Review David F This film is a classic, probably mostly because of Audrey Hepburn. I did enjoy the scenes with the cat - some of the best uses of that animal I’ve seen in cinema. The Hepburn love interest is kind of a stiff, though, isn’t he? and that yellow face material with Mickey Rooney sure doesn’t age well at all. Apart from all that, this is a story about some bohemians living in New York in the 50s with loads of quirks and eccentricities and tons of great New York scenery, so if you are a New York-o-phile you should enjoy it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Average P Amazingly seductive, but, at the same time, morally vaccuous Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/24 Full Review Patrick S I like old movies but this was terrible. Here is a list of things wrong with it. 1. Boring 2. Had no plot (If so it was flat) 3. Had no breakfast scene 4. Filmed poorly DO NOT WATCH ITS A WASTE OF TIME Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
