What to Know

Critics Consensus

It contains some ugly anachronisms, but Blake Edwards is at his funniest in this iconic classic, and Audrey Hepburn absolutely lights up the screen.

It can be faulted as a narrative and it doesn't take a serious moral view. But the people who querulously insist on such points have clearly not surrendered to Miss Hepburn's magic spell. Go to Full Review

An unusual love story, glamorous, sophisticated, with more than a touch of the bizarre. Go to Full Review

Well, the movie still looks very good, and you'd need a heart of stone not to love the cat. Go to Full Review

It would be ridiculous to pretend that Hepburn doesn’t look utterly divine in that iconic little black dress, but the beauty of the costumes is overshadowed by the presence of Mr. Yunioshi, a horrifically racist caricature Go to Full Review

If this was just a silly romantic comedy, it would be completely forgettable, but the story has some meat on its bones, and the the performances by Hepburn and Peppard make this a movie worth watching, at least once, just to see why it is so famous. Go to Full Review

SkyDawn 02/15/2023 It's a classic and now I know why. Made me laugh and want to cry. Loved it See more Patrick 02/17/2022 Katherine Hepburn & George Peppard were terrific in this classic film See more m 02/17/2022 this is a great classic movie, See more Gerald H Nov 20 I would like to rate it higher, but „Asian" Mickey Rooney is the ultimate no-go … whitewashing at its peak. And however critiques struggle to explain it, the main score „cowboy"-song is a catastrphe in this setting, no matter what it refers to. See more Infinite B Oct 3 don't waste your time unless you want to get lung cancer from the constant smoking and watch overly absorbed people fixate on how much money they have, along with meaningless conversations going nowhere. Although I suspect that that was the meaning of the film, shallow people with money trying to find meaning with superficial sex. See more Luca D @JoeCamel7 Jun 17 Definitely a must see if your into romcoms. Even if your not it's easier to watch than the new ones. Besides the white guy playing a stereotypical Asian man, this movie is pretty flawless. A good story that heavily focuses on two main characters feelings and personalities. Would watch again and recommend to anyone, though watching it again I realized it's a little bit risque in theme so I don't think kids should watch it . See more Read all reviews
