Breaking the Girls just doesn't have that rewatchable quality to me.... Once you reach the A-Ha! moment, nothing is quite as satisfying - or as gay, but that's all I can say without spoiling you.

Can someone please tell Jamie Babbit to stop directing movies! Just about all of her films are so dreadfully bad and unwatchable. My question is, who the hell keeps hiring her, and actually paying her for the drivel she keeps crapping out!! In fact, there's NO reason to watch her movies to realize it's gonna suck! And why do actors keep accepting roles in her movies?! Do they even read the script?!

What appears to want to be an erotic thriller is lessened by two things: there is absolutely no nudity in this movie, though there are tons of opportunities to display such, thus muting any eroticism they are trying to promote, and just having two females kissing each other without any sense of lust or attraction does not make for eroticism either. This is just a bland money grab story that is not difficult to figure out and not very well acted either.

Atmospheric and suspenseful, Breaking the Girls is a B-grade version of a Hitchcockian thriller. After being fired from her job law student Sara Ryan is befriended by a rich socialite, but the friendship soon turns dark when the two begin to talk about forming a murder pact. Both Agnes Bruckner and Madeline Zima give strong performances; particularly Zima, whose role is quite demanding. And there's some mystery and intrigue to the murder plots (even though they're rather formulaic). Yet overall, Breaking the Girls is a mediocre crime drama that's pretty by-the-numbers.

Sadly, Madeline Zima has been type-cast to the same drunk, manipulative monster. Otherwise, I enjoyed the movie. Another good one for those nights when your are up late.
