After 15 years, Tom Hamill (Granville Van Dusen) announces to his wife, JoAnn (Lee Remick), that he is unsatisfied with their marriage and is leaving her. This shocking revelation devastates JoAnn, and she watches helplessly as Tom ventures out into the world to date other women. After a time of grieving, however, JoAnn comes to value her independence.
