Audience Member Incredible! I LOVED this movie! It was warm, personal, relatable and funny! It is now one of my all time favorites. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm engaged and was in the mood for a comedy style wedding movie. I found Breakup at a Wedding on Hulu Plus. I never finished this movie. It was AWFUL. It reinforced my idea of having a simple wedding and doing what we want instead of worrying about others. Breakup at a Wedding is as depressing as the title comes and oddly listed as a comedy. The bride decides she doesn't want to marry the groom right before the wedding, but they decide to have the wedding since they won't get their deposits back. Then the plan is not to sign the marriage certificate. It's miserable, not funny, and not entertaining at all. Skip it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie - very funny and brilliant comic timing from the cast Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member The way the director put this film together is brilliant. It had the flavors of The Office meets the Wedding Photographer. I thought that the entire idea behind the film was well done and I loved every second of this movie. It is great! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member A pretty good comedie, but don't expect any big surprise. This movie is kind of "The Office" (The TV series) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member I brought my whole family to this movie in its premiere week and we all hysterically laughed throughout the entire thing. My brother and I are still quoting many of the best lines (amazing cameos from various random New York improvisers and actors). I was even touched by the ending, which is a truly rare feat for any comedy made these days. Solid acting, writing, directing, and cinematography -- really, a well produced film all around, with a very original angle. My only complaint is that it's not currently distributed in every single theater in the US... would love all my friends around the country to see this thing. Can't wait to see more from these guys!!! Farran Smith Nehme New York Post "Breakup at a Wedding'' works, because Quinaz has come up with a concept that lets him skewer directorial pretension alongside wedding hysteria. Rated: 3/4 Aug 2, 2013 Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times If you're the kind who is always up for a calamity-filled trip down the aisle, "Breakup at a Wedding" is a moderately amusing application of the formula. Rated: 3/5 Aug 1, 2013 Full Review Mike D'Angelo AV Club Any rooting interest in the central lovers evaporates, as both seem so terminally stupid that the thought of them potentially having children together is frightening. Rated: D+ Aug 1, 2013 Full Review Jared Mobarak The Film Stage Yes, the whole enterprise is parody, but there remains a welcome streak of humanity to cut deep across the middle of what is an otherwise debauchery-filled romp. Rated: B Jun 29, 2016 Full Review Jason Gorber ScreenAnarchy I was pleased enough with Breakup At A Wedding, pleased with its ambition, its execution, even its stylistic conceit. Not exactly high praise, perhaps, but I think the film achieves what it sets out to do, and does so admirably. Rated: C+ Jun 17, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
