Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News This twisty tale serves up acting sparks while Rowe injects this Cape Fear-lite effort with welcome doses of dark humor. Aug 24, 2023 Full Review Calum Baker Radio Times The always watchable Mulroney nails the film's tone: earnest and ludicrous in equal measure. Rated: 3/5 Jul 1, 2024 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A farfetched thriller. Rated: C Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Breakwater starts off being a mediocre thriller, but then it goes swiftly downhill in the last third of the movie, when it crams in too many far-fetched plot twists. It doesn't help that the movie's protagonist is dimwitted and boring. Jan 2, 2024 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills These characters aren’t all that complex or involving as written, the twists that beleaguer them too familiar to stir any great suspense. Still, Breakwater is a competently crafted potboiler that’s entertaining if unmemorable. Jan 2, 2024 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Far-fetched contrivances eventually sink this stylish and mildly intriguing thriller overflowing with bayou atmosphere. Aubrey M Love everything with Mulroney. Very good Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/24 Full Review Blake H Saw this movie on TikTok and thought I’d give it a watch. I’d give it a 2/10. Definitely shouldn’t be R-Rated or in the Thriller category. This won’t be the worst movie you’ll ever watch but it will be amongst the worst movies you’ve ever seen. The music selection also didn’t help. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t watch again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review Stoner J Mediocre thriller but worth a watch. The ending is incomplete though and Dermot Mulroney has never been convincing in any role Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Stephanie C We loves this nail biter!! Sequel please!!!! I'm not sure why the low rating but we thought it was great!! 5 stars. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/24 Full Review Sydney P North Carolina's quaint town and menacing coast in this film is well accompanied by Dermot Mulroney who plays a role with similarly mistaken innocence and ruthless intention. A great little indie that keeps you on your toes with beautiful composition and engaging storytelling. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/24 Full Review Julia I Intriguing plot twists & good performances - excellent cinematography too! I thought there was a perfect blend of suspense & emotion. Would highly recommend Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews
