Kathryn VanArendonk New York Magazine/Vulture Escapism is a luxury Regan is clearly hoping to gift his audience. Luxuries have a cost, though. I'm not sure if On the Rocks is worth the price. Audience Member Brian Regan is as funny as he as ever been in this special. I thought this one was even better than his last Netflix special, Nunchucks and Flamethrowers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Couldn't get past the packed audience, basically on top of each other in October 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. Sure there have been no reports of the show creating a super spreader event but Reagan did admit in December he has recovered from COVID. Did he catch it during this show and if he did when he was the only one socially distanced how many others did. He didn't need 1,900 people packed side by side to have a show. That feels like an ego thing. He could have done 900 or so people spaced apart (unless they're part of a family pod) to better protect everyone. I don't think someone's need to be in the spotlight should overshadow the need to take COVID seriously. Many comedians have found safe ways to perform and been fantastic, namely Mike Birbiglias virtual shows are some of the best I've ever seen or even Nate Bargatze's drive in experience was fantastic. This is simply something I cannot support, he can try to pretend COVID doesn't exist (I think he has 1 line referencing COVID and it's more to talk about his now grey hair) but that doesn't make it so. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a funny stand up. Actually got to be there live for the taping. He's always so fun to watch, his facial and bodily expressions are like no one else. He's so engaging and hilarious. Take an hour and just sit and laugh. It's good for life, especially right now. ☺️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Jessica D Laughed the entire time. Definitely recommend.
