Lisa Kennedy New York Times Make sure to watch this thriller in its original German. Dubbed into English, it goes from mildly diverting to landing like a ton of, well …. Jul 10, 2025 Full Review Clint Worthington RogerEbert.com It's frustrating to see such high-concept potential, some decent production design, and a couple of game leads fall victim to a mystery that unfolds with thudding obviousness. Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 10, 2025 Full Review Karina Adelgaard Heaven of Horror Personally, I can’t help but think several endings were tossed around, and I would’ve preferred a much darker ending. But hey, to each their own, and I still enjoyed it. Rated: 3/5 Aug 11, 2025 Full Review Dionar Hidalgo Algo Más Que Cine 'Brick' starts with a gripping premise and stylish visuals, but quickly loses momentum with flat characters and a muddled script. What could’ve been a tense psychological thriller turns into a hollow survival game with wasted emotional depth. Rated: 5/10 Aug 3, 2025 Full Review John Stark Mac the Movie Guy There is a fair amount of tension, and while you never quite get all the answers, it seems to introduce an intriguing mystery that could work well in sequels. The strength is in the concept. Rated: 62/100 Jul 29, 2025 Full Review Chris Joyce Movies and Munchies (YouTube) The mystery isn’t as clever as it could be, and the shallow depth of field is distracting, but thanks to enjoyable performances and a quick runtime, Brick is an easy and sometimes stressful watch. Benjamin G It’s not the most elaborate script but the premise is fun and will keep you wondering what is going on until the end. Which leaves a lot of room open for a sequel if they choose to go that path. I watched it with English dubbed and appreciated that the lead subbed his own voice, might be better if watched in its original German form. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/28/25 Full Review Khaliel P Honestly, the trailer intrigued me, and I was just hoping the film wouldn’t fall back on the alien excuse—and on that front, I wasn’t disappointed. Still, the final explanation is absurd. We’re also told the building is completely cut off by the wall, severing water pipes and internet connections, yet somehow electricity keeps flowing through without anyone questioning it. Add to that a highly questionable cast (the acting is so weak that the French dubbing almost saves the film), and what was aiming to be the new Cube, a deadly escape game, ends up as nothing more than another bland German production. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/27/25 Full Review Jeffrey P Fans of the Cube series should be able to enjoy it enough, though it doesn’t work quite as well because of couples and their relationship drama. The ending is... something else. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/20/25 Full Review FRANCO A I meant I like watching escape room movies but I need the meaning of the ending I don't get it and It's mostly leading to a muddled, predictable, and emotionally detached viewing experience. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/25 Full Review Kevin A This was a very big miss for what could have been a great film. The concept had real potential, but it ended up in the wrong hands. The main female protagonist was a complete bore, and I simply didn’t believe the relationship at the heart of the story. She came across more like a little annoying girl than a believable partner, which made the whole dynamic fall flat. They really dumbed the characters down. there was absolutely nothing interesting about them. We were all curious about the mysterious ‘brick’ walls, but the movie just didn’t have enough substance to really ride or sell that idea.” Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/16/25 Full Review Ernesto R Demasiado WOKE No puedo creer que la trama era excelente, el misterio y todo lo que rodea a los personajes es increíblemente fabuloso, pero el desarrollo de la historia es pésimo, la novia solo resuelve problemas por el poder del guión Mejor evitar este tipo de películas Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/14/25 Full Review Read all reviews
