Jason Adams The Film Experience Focusing in on one single important piece like this is a bit of a master-stroke - it allows us to survey the scene of the 1960s art-world in miniature Jul 2, 2021 Full Review Benjamin Sutton Hyperallergic It feels slightly superficial, not delving especially deeply into any of its subjects and presenting a version of the (art) world scrubbed clean as if with a Brillo soap pad. Feb 7, 2020 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest With dozens of interview subjects whose perspective doesn't only add historical context but their mere presence alludes to the film's key theme that no one sees the value of the Warhol's creation in exactly the same way. Oct 22, 2018 Full Review Argun Ulgen PopMatters Brillo Box (3 Cents Off) may have needed an iconic Warhol artwork to receive attention, but the film's narrative journey would have remained compelling even if it had focused on lesser known artists. Rated: 7/10 Aug 10, 2017 Full Review Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat Spirituality & Practice A documentary memoir about the journey of one of Andy Warhol's pop art creations. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 8, 2017 Full Review Andrew Karpan Nonfics The movie becomes an extended reflection on the work ... in order to distill what exactly is at the root of the work's, and Warhol's, appeal. Audience Member this was truly a great little documentary combining a famous piece of pop art history and a personal story about the director's family. highly recommended! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Nothing much going on here but it was fine. The art world is a funny place. There is a family diary dynamic which I'm sure is interesting to people in that family but I don't see much that would be compelling to anyone else. But it was an inoffensive way to spend 40 minutes. 5.2 out of 10 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews
