Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz Broken is a likable piece of work. There is plenty here to suggest that [director Tarry] Mortlock and his team have got other, more-ambitious projects than this ahead of them. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Watching Broken was a complete joy! I highly recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Tarry M A great film and well worth the watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/19 Full Review Audience Member This is a gem of a movie! Just loved it!! Loved the lead Actor "Logan" and the main bad guy "Cruz"!! Very touching and believable!! I recommend!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member There's probably a good story here about forgiveness. But the movie is heavy handed, preachy, cliched, and poorly acted. The score is overly heavy. The dialogue is terrible. The whole thing feels completely inauthentic. After awhile it becomes obvious that this is a Christian film made for evangelical believers that has hidden its agenda in its slick marketing campaign. The best thing about the movie is the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand. It's a sanitised movie clearly made for believers who want a "nice" movie that doesn't confront or provoke deep thinking. Give it a miss. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Worse movie I have seen in the last few years and then some. Embarrassed to be a kiwi in the theatre. Couldn't tell what year they were aiming for the film to be set in as multiple mix of past and present , also unrealistic i.e for size of town and technology with cop cars/ TV's - youth group was far too modern with equipment and size. Also needed alot more time on the Maori lense as didn't accurately represent the Maori culture. Was easy to tell from the outset the film was paid for by a church, as the Christian message was woven through the whole storyline. The quality of the acting left a lot to be desired , it's basically a couple of hours of life I won't get back.Recommend watching Waru for a example of a true kiwi film Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
