Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com This is a heart-rending, bracing story, told with such immediacy that you can take or leave its allegorical elements. Rated: 3/4 Oct 21, 2022 Full Review Caitlin Quinlan Sight & Sound Scarcity and sparseness guide both the visual aesthetic and the narrative, an economy that results in a compelling accumulation of small moments that loom with volatility. Mar 18, 2021 Full Review Jared Mobarak The Film Stage Yildiz is wonderful as Yusuf—his emotions worn on his sleeve throughout. That said, however, the adults deliver the most memorable performances. Their duplicity. Their indignation. Their terror. Davide l Simply painfully human as birth and death and the little we have to play with in between, Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Deniz I This movie depicts the claustrophobic and oppressive structure of the public boarding schools in Turkey with all its reality through the perspective of children. Everyone must see it and I am almost certain that it would help you build a new perspective on how children are forced to navigate within a system that disregards them again and again. It might be based of on Ferit Karahan's own experiences but the movie sheds light on the experiences of millions of people who have had to live through similar experiences. Therefore, the movie even paves a way for healing for those who have been in such environments by making people feel understood and not alone.
