Documentarian and violinist Oren Siedler wants to reconcile with her father, Bruce. But this is no typical estranged parent-child relationship: Bruce is an ex-hippie living in the rural South who hasn't paid his taxes for decades, instead committing white-collar crimes to make his living. Still, to make her portrait of a bighearted man with many quirks, Oren leaves her Australian home and eventually finds her father living with his 97-year-old mother -- and, later, a young Cuban girlfriend.
