The film presents late-80s America so fetishistically that it feels at times like a follow-up to Bennett Miller's Foxcatcher (2014), and its recycling of 80s teen-movie cliches are also weirdly reverential.

This is a movie about Bumblebee, not a movie about 'Charlie Watsons' Miserable Teenage Life'. If i wanted that, I would have watched iCarly or something else, the cheesy teenage drama, romance, misery, tragedy. There is literally no action other than the first 5 minutes and last 10 minutes, the rest of the show should be named 'Charlies' miserable life by Hailee Steinfeld'.

Nearly 7 years later and it's still the best live action Transformers movie. I honestly cannot picture this movie without Hailee Steinfeld's chemistry with the title character when she portrayed Charlie Watson and honestly if it was Rachel Ziegler I bail out.
