Bryant S I bought the movie expecting something horrible and I'll be honest, it far exceeded expectations. It was easily a top 10 comedy watching this with friends and putting our own commentary over it made shave but a few years off my life. The comedy ended as soon as they started trying to develop the convoluted plot (that confused all 4 other people I convinced to watch it) with absolutely breathtaking action scenes. And by breathtaking I mean I felt like I was dying on the inside watching it questioning my life decisions. The movie just ends without really explaining much as far as what the ending was seeking to accomplish and it felt like even the writing was there to stroke the writer's ego and pumping too much stock into his own movie at times. I'll take this movie as a lesson that just because you are passionate about something, it doesn't mean it's something you are good at. And that's okay. This applies to the acting, directing, writing, plot, basically the movie as a whole, it ain't y'alls calling. I choose to ignore the fact that the movie sometimes looks like it was filmed on an iPhone 6 and edited by a high schooler taking Digital Media 1. Surprised I didn't see a flame transition anywhere to be honest. If you want a good laugh, just rent the movie. The acting was so bad. The dialogue was dry and boring. I can get behind the story but it's obviously based on Mckamey Manor. The lighting in this movie (if there was any) is terrible. The excessive shadows in some of the scenes when two people were having a conversation was very distracting. Would not Recommend. Super low budget but it's funny in the way a lot of early 80's horror movies are. I liked the youngest daughter and the Manor guys wife in terms of acting they were the most believable. The music score was good too. If you like anything to do with real life haunts, you'd like this too.
