Victor O A moment of inspiration has led me to look into Sarah Carter’s filmography and this movie caught my attention. I didn’t know what to make of this given a decent cast and a description that didn’t explain much but I had a vague idea of what it might be and if it was what I thought it was then it would be worth my time. Zachary Cranston faces the end of his life as he reflects back on what brought him to this moment. Since childhood, he’s always wanted what his mother’s boyfriend achieved in business, and he wants that for himself. Money, power, women, the whole thing and his intelligence and ability to charm and persuade people have gotten him the education to fulfill his goals, but as it turns out he’s been warned about the ethical dilemma’s present in his goals by a professor. Which boomerangs as he ends up using it as a plan instead of a warning once the man he idolizes gets arrested for illegal business practices. He creates a fund and after trying to play it honestly with no success, works his plan to create a Ponzi scheme that gets him what he wants but at the cost of so much unethical and illegal practices that have him become desperate to right things to a conclusion. This was amazing! After having watched a bad movie, I was hoping for a good movie, and I figured this would be a fun drama and it’s that and more. To be more precise, it’s a black comedy that is pretty much a warning, in the same vein as other films such as The Big Short or Wolf of Wallstreet. Only this is completely fictional, although I’m willing to bet big chunks of this are based on the cutthroat world of Wall Street. If this movie had a stronger budget and a bigger director this would get more awards and nominations out of it because it truly is a good movie. I saw this for Sarah Carter, and while her role was tiny, I loved it immensely as well as the rest of the cast. From Larenz Tate, Lance Reddick, Kurtwood Smith, Julian Richings, and a nice appearance from Angus Mcfadyen. The range of emotions written all over his face - from excited to frightened to embarrassment- all in 5 seconds- yeah this was his best work. The story was creative, funny & filled with colorful characters. I was thoroughly entertained. Hated for it end. The part with the smartest guy in the firm on the golf course 😂still lmao!
