      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Handicapped by a family friendly PG rating, even the talents of Caddyshack II's all-star comic cast can't save it from its lazy, laughless script and uninspired direction.

Alex Worst movie I've ever seen besides Jaws the Revenge. Not one laugh. Horrible, awful film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/24 Full Review Christopher J this movie is severly underrated this movis is hilarious although not as good as the original Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review BRENDEN J Not great and really poor sequel to the great classic comedy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/04/24 Full Review Stephen C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 38 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/28/22 Full Review smiley v After years of searching I've finally found the worst movie ever made. Bad movies come in different flavors; some are bad because the film makers were inept, some are bad but good because the film makers were completely clueless but sincere. Some can be entertaining as something to mock. Some are amusing by the sheer "brilliance" of the movie makers utter failure. Some are bad because they're ill conceived, poorly paced and ultimately boring. This isn't one of those. This is an insult to film. This is a bald faced cash grab with no vision, no originality and no entertainment value. There's nothing funny about it. There's nothing even amusing about it. If it were shown to prisoners it would be considered cruel and unusual punishment. It's actually painful to watch, painful in how every bad joke falls flat, painful in the waste of talent and painful that some studio exec had so little regard for their fellow human beings they would release this thinking people would like it. This is the stupidest movie ever greenlit by greedy execs. It's so bad I can't mock it. It's so bad I can't watch it because it makes me angry. It's absolutely horrible. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The remnants of Caddyshack is stripped down and replaced with a discount Dangerfield as the protagonist. Aimless direction and even less consistent in quality than the original. Caddyshack 2 is the perfect example of a cash-in sequel. Peter Travers People Magazine Chevy Chase, as a socialite who sells the club to Mason, and Dan Aykroyd, as a psycho ex-Marine hired by Stack to dispatch his enemy, are pitifully awful. Jul 25, 2014 Full Review Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer It is a sight not to behold. Rated: 2/4 Jun 4, 2013 Full Review Jay Boyar Orlando Sentinel This PG-rated romp is bland bananas compared to its R-rated predecessor. Jun 4, 2013 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Raunchy, over-the-top '80s sequel has cursing. Rated: 2/5 Jul 10, 2018 Full Review TV Guide The result is a disaster. Mason founders in his poorly written role, and none of the film's endless series of gags is the least bit funny. Rated: 1/4 Jun 4, 2013 Full Review Jo Berry Radio Times The first Caddyshack may have been funny, but take away some of the talent from the original and you're left with the mess that is Caddyshack II.
