Bill Harkins (Dick Foran) loses his contract with the Pony Express and has to search for another line of work. After he makes a bid to operate a stagecoach line, the company forces him to engage in a cross-country race against the other high bidder, the Banton brothers. Whoever makes it across the finish line first will win the contract. Unfortunately for Bill, Roy Banton (Ed Cobb) is determined to break every rule in the book in order to prevail -- including framing his rival for murder.
