Audience Member A beautiful story of following your passion. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A great lady, the perfect Mother's Day movie. "A quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick is over...." Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Why the heck would this movie only get 40% ? I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! If your an aspiring artist/musician, I highly recommend this movie. It really has a lot of heart & it shows the true meaning of having the LOVE for music. There are some great shots of Toronto & Niagra Falls & it's quite witty with a hint of Torontonian sarcasm on the side. If you love a well written movie purely centered on the art of it all, you'll enjoy this. Maybe I should've checked the bottom for reviews. I see, 40% due to lack of viewers. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member 'What are you waiting for? A quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over!' This is the story of two women, Jessica Tandy (in her final screen appearance as the titular character Camilla) and Bridget Fonda (as Freda, an aspiring musician) who take off to Toronto Canada to hear a Brahms violin concerto while Tandy's son and Fonda's husband are out of town on business. Meanwhile, Camilla's son (Maury Chaykin) becomes convinced his mom has been kidnapped when she orchestrates a reunion with a long-lost lover. Graham Greene makes for a charming car thief and con artist and we have Tandy's real-life husband Hume Cronyn playing an old flame (love that wonderfully tender bed room scene with the two.) A sweet and adorable movie that flows naturally from drama, to adventure, to romance sprinkled with humor and some comedy. Jonathan Romney Guardian A nice film. God is it ever nice. Mar 2, 2024 Full Review Stephen Amidon Financial Times An ode to bohemianism that is so laid back it is practically unconscious. Mar 1, 2024 Full Review Geoff Brown Times (UK) Deep Mehta's film goes nowhere much, but it stays gentle, thoughtful and kind. Mar 1, 2024 Full Review Philip French Observer (UK) There is considerable poignancy in the way Tandy's piercing blue eyes look unflinchingly at us from that handsome, handsome face. Her presence is as strong and as vulnerable as a steel-spring that we know is near uncoiling.
