See more 08/28/2016 Radley Metzger's modern, erotic take on "La Dame aux Camélias" by Alexander Dumas, fils is a really gorgeous, slick and fairly faithful adaptation of the material that really only suffers from the fact that it needs some interminably long and dull sex scenes to fulfill it's duties as erotica. There's a fairly wonderful S&M prison-themed party scene that is probably the highlight of the film. Otherwise, the erotic sequences are pretty static and just grind the whole film to a halt.
