Mr. Smith captures ground-level political machinations in an utterly fascinating way. The question raised by the title makes for an interesting, if possibly disheartening, debate.

For all its rah-rah David-vs.-Goliath populism, Can Mr. Smith understands that even an uncorrupted outsider like Smith must master the art of campaign gamesmanship to be successful.

Como documentarista, Popper curiosamente reflete as virtudes e fragilidades de seu protagonista: tem o coração no lugar certo, mas demonstra inexperiência ao criar uma narrativa com certo carisma, mas claramente amadora.

Just like its subject, not everything goes right all the time for Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore, but the film is ultimately a fascinating, eye-opening portrait of an everyman's grab for a US Congressional seat.

funny to learn this prodigy do-gooder went to prison. kudos to him for working tirelessly even if a little shady, his phone call work alone would exhaust most into quitting.

I liked this documentary a lot. It solidified what I arleady felt about politics in general, but I did learn a few things as well.

This documentary is very well done. It delves (not to deeply though) into the idea that perhaps The Big Names in Politics can outweigh the little man no matter the issues. Why? Because it seems that the voters simply don't care anymore and will vote with the name of the person "who is sure to win". It is very interesting and engaging and has you rooting until the very end wondering if Mr. Smith can get to Washington. 84/100
