Mr. Smith captures ground-level political machinations in an utterly fascinating way. The question raised by the title makes for an interesting, if possibly disheartening, debate. Go to Full Review

For all its rah-rah David-vs.-Goliath populism, Can Mr. Smith understands that even an uncorrupted outsider like Smith must master the art of campaign gamesmanship to be successful. Go to Full Review

08/12/2013 Fascinating to see the inner workings of an old school campaign for Congress. See more 04/16/2013 Just like its subject, not everything goes right all the time for Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore, but the film is ultimately a fascinating, eye-opening portrait of an everyman's grab for a US Congressional seat. See more 09/13/2011 I liked this documentary a lot. It solidified what I arleady felt about politics in general, but I did learn a few things as well. See more 05/03/2011 Shot in St. Louis, I just randomly started watching this and then recognized my streets! See more 04/28/2011 This documentary is very well done. It delves (not to deeply though) into the idea that perhaps The Big Names in Politics can outweigh the little man no matter the issues. Why? Because it seems that the voters simply don't care anymore and will vote with the name of the person "who is sure to win". It is very interesting and engaging and has you rooting until the very end wondering if Mr. Smith can get to Washington. 84/100 See more Read all reviews
