justin t A thoroughly entertaining and memorable British indie horror with some comedy to boot. It is beautifully shot, great sounding and excellently acted. My only minor gripe was that it felt like it was written in 2005 and only just got made in 2017 without altering the script. It's not as funny as Shaun of the Dead (2004), it's more like Doghouse (2009), Severance (2006) and The Cottage (2008) where there is comedy but it's more about the horror and the entertaining characters. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review corkball I was hoping for a funny splatter comedy, and to some extent, 'Cannibals and Carpet Fitters' fits the bill, but it is a bit dark for a comedy, and too absurd for a horror flick. Points for making the killing fairly unpredictable, but this film is a bit of a downer. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I had so much fun watching this film, it never outstays its welcome and perfectly balances the horror (and theres lots of that) with the comedy but never falling into the slapstick arena and being that type of comedy that I love. The realistic sarcastic humour that you might be familiar with in shows such as The Inbetweeners, or films such as Severence,or Cockneys v Zombies. Easily my type of comedy horror films. Whilst there characters in the film that I wish there was more of, the whole cast does a brilliant job of doing what I wish every film would do. Keep me entertained and before I knew it, the end credits were rolling on this film but thats okay. Because I can revisit this film many times over the coming years and with films such as Shaun Of The Dead or several Peter Jackson movies, Cannibals and Carpet Fitters becomes my movie friend that I will visit from time to time, Whether its to laugh at the jokes and situations, whether its to see Zara Phythian performing (as she always does) great fight scenes or perhaps its just to rewatch the film and show it to my friends. Cannibals and Carpet Fitters is a perfect way to spend an evening (just dont watch it whilst you are eating a casserole or hot dogs)- Just saying- remember those words. Director James Bushe has added another wonderful project to his ever growing CV, and if you haven't checked out Predator:Dark Ages then I highly recommend you do so, but if you can do me one favour then please add Cannibals and Carpet Fitters to your ‘radar' and get it watched when you can Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Low budget gold. Fits into that so bad it's good category. Hilariously funny, grossly unpredictable a somewhat refreshing horror with an ending straight out of resident evil 4 (the game) absolutely must see Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Found this curiosity through a review in Fortean Times. So grabbed it off Amazon. I'm very glad I did! It's a solid horror comedy, with some decent surprises along the way. And it's always nice to get a new cannibal movie. :) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Nathan A The story of 5 carpet installers, or carpet Fitters if you're British, go to a country mansion in the middle of nowhere to work and find a murderous old woman and her four low IQ ( handicapped? ) sons. About every 10 minutes, you are rewarded with a nice kill: spike to the Head, decapitation, or a head split open with an axe. The acting is okay. But does not feel committed. So it's feels like everyone is throwing their lines away. . I do not believe in being a logic police when it comes to movies. But no one here behaves as a normal person would in these situations. For example, in the old house, they find blood and severed fingers and toes. But they still stick around to chit chat. This sort of thing happens so often that it ruins any sense of danger. As with any movie, even a dark comedy like this, we really have to believe that they believe they are in danger. Litter are some funny bits and it's not amateurish. Maybe a step or two above that. So you might like it Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/05/19 Full Review Read all reviews
