delysid d its true that this version of the capone story is pretty crap Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/17/20 Full Review ashley h Capone is a disappointing film. It is about the rise and fall of the infamous Chicago gangster Al Capone. Ben Gazzara and Susan Blakely give horrible performances. The script is badly written. Steve Carver did a terrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Playing like a cartoon version of The Godfather, this purported biopic of Al Capone features a puffy smirking Ben Gazzara (was he borrowing Brando's cotton wool?) and several litres of red paint masquerading as blood. The whole ninety minutes seems to have been shot on the Fox backlot. Good actors like Harry Guardino and John Cassavetes lend some necessary weight, and a young Sylvester Stallone proves he can more than hold his own. But it's disposable stuff. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review rory s Good movie. Educational on the life of the famous gangster. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Capone (1975) ?? Laughable gangster epic unsuccessfully examines Al Capone during prohibition era in Chicago. Lots of action, lots of blood, but no brains in sight. Produced by schlockmeister B movie king, Roger Corman. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Leaden. Plays like a TV movie of the week. Early Stallone performance. Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The movie has been so chopped into neatly dated segments that no development of character and personality is really possible. The characters get their labels and wear them and die with them, and that's it. Rated: 1/4 Jul 6, 2018 Full Review LAFP Staff Los Angeles Free Press If you want a lot of blood mixed with foul-mouthed gangster talk, quick deaths and no glorifcation or motive (thank God), by all means see Capone.
