A real turning point in the Marvel Universe as it experiments with new genres, with tremendous action throughout. it’s not perfect, Robert Redford seems ill-at-ease, but eight years on it’s still terrific. Go to Full Review

Captain America: The Winter Soldier neatly and entertainingly puts into motion some big changes in the Marvel universe, while still sticking to its own charms - no easy feat, but one fit for a hero. Go to Full Review

It knocks down a lot of the infrastructure the previous films had created, and it does so in a way that feels organic and refreshing for the Marvel world at large. Go to Full Review

It represents a monumental act of toy-breaking, but it works spectacularly well because it removes the safety net above which the first "phase" of Marvel features operated. Go to Full Review

The heroic eye-popping action sequences, hand-to-hand fight scenes, and extraordinary stuntwork are still present, but there is legitimate exposition going on that matters. Go to Full Review

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is an ideal blockbuster: fast, entertaining, visually striking, well-acted, and with something to say politically. The first film was good, but this is where things get more interesting. [Full review in Spanish]. Go to Full Review

Boots McGee 09/24/2024 action packed and just a fun time. very few lulls in the action, but usually those lulls are filled with pretty people in various stages of undress but no smut. See more Aryaman S @AryamanS 2d A lot of people at the time of its release praised Captain America: The Winter Soldier for blending 1970s-style political conspiracy thrillers with the comic-book film genre. After watching it, I can say that while the film incorporates those influences effectively, it is neither better nor more innovative than what Captain America: The First Avenger achieved by blending wartime adventure, science fiction, and superhero storytelling. What The Winter Soldier does exceptionally well is continue Steve Rogers’ character journey. If the first film was about establishing the moral core of Steve Rogers and Captain America, then this one is about maintaining that moral core in a modern world that constantly pressures him to compromise it. The result is a film that is every bit as entertaining and engaging as its predecessor while offering a fresh perspective on Captain America and the ideals he represents. See more Max C. @Maxtherealmovierater1 4d It’s not bad I don’t think it was terrible I do think it could have had better fight scenes but other wise good job See more Brendan T. @JackTheSipper712 Jun 10 2nd best captain America See more Matthew B. @RT47158276 Jun 7 I think this is the best action in all the MCU. Plus a very nice plot twist and interesting characters See more Bret M. @BretM-3 May 30 SPOILER ALERT!!! Holy moly, I forgot just how good this movie is! Movies like this are why I trust the Russo Brothers with Avengers Doomsday. For starters, this story is amazing. The idea that Hydra has been running things secretly through S.H.I.E.L.D is terrifying. And having Cap reunite with Bucky after all this time is an amazing idea, and it’s heartbreaking to see that Bucky doesn’t remember Steve. And if we’re talking heartbreaking, you gotta talk about the Peggy Carter scene. Oh boy, I caught myself getting a little misty eyed during that scene. Another part of this movie I love is the hand-to-hand combat. This movie has kinda earned a reputation for its hand-to-hand combat, and for good reason! There are so many good action and fight scenes, and the overall fight choreography is stupendous! This is an incredible film that deserves all the love that it gets. See more Read all reviews
