The cinematography is gorgeous, but the movie plays it fast and loose with history and the novel it was adapted from. Mostly, the movie fails because the romance between the leads strains credulity and the story is largely uninvolving.

Wonderful film...the actors were spot on and the leads were exceptional... the filming which took place on the island of Cephalonia in Greece is incredible and really, it is worth every minute, not a boring moment anywhere. One of the best films you are likely to see.

If you've read the book and enjoyed your read, do not watch this film. Do not attempt to watch this film. I'm not overreacting. Don't do it. Also, even if you haven't read the book, I suggest not watching this film.

A handsomely photographed historical picture with a mostly disinteresting love triangle. This star studded romance infused with World War 2 is serviceable enough but hot highly recommendable.

This movie is amazing. One of the best war movies I've ever seen. There is love, joy and war mixed perfectly together. The actors are great and the story is so good. The cinematography and directing are both amazong. The screenplay is filled with intelligen dialogues.. Almost perfect. Reccomended 100%

Il est très étrange de voir un film aussi propre techniquement être aimé par des raisons très probablement extérieures à sa volonté. En effet, il n'est pas sûr que John Madden imaginait que son film serait aussi distrayant grâce à l'accent italien effroyable de Nicolas Cage et de John Hurt, poussant les curseurs du ridicule jusqu'à 11 constamment. Cependant, mis à part une durée bien trop importante et des séquences de guerre risibles, cette histoire d'amour un peu idiote entre Nicolas Cage, Penelope Cruz et Christian Bale n'est pas déplaisante du tout, même sur son faux rythme et ses rebondissements souvent inintéressants. Capitaine Corelli est un film sympathique à défaut d'être vraiment inoubliable.
