Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts This film is quite intriguing because of the subject matter but there's not a lot behind there. Rated: 5/10 Apr 26, 2021 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed ... does not reinvent its sub-genre but it is, to this non-fan of found footage, not the most annoying or disagreeable to watch and it was decent. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 19, 2020 Full Review Michelle Swope HorrorNews.net Found footage is going to have shaky cameras, but this movie took it to a level at times that I thought was a bit too much. The story is original though and that kind of made up for the extreme shaky cameras. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 6, 2019 Full Review John Townsend Starburst Capture Kill Release is an interesting, often uncomfortable film that deserves to be seen, if only for that one stunning performance. Audience Member One word for this movie... disturbing. And I'm making sure to give it the worst review possible anywhere I can via worldwide web. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Well, it's boring. Not really interesting, the acting is passable, the only redeeming thing was Gary and they killed him. Looks like the people who made that moviue never seen any report on serial killers :/ Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Torture porn meets found footage. Directors Nick McAnulty (who also wrote this) and Brian Allan Stewart have made a tightly crafted horror drama here that I would actually say is worth a watch thanks to the acting of the two main leads and their believable, flawed relationship. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Gets in your head, the female leads performance was convincing and had me convinced through out. A great perspective into a mentality none of us would ever want to enter. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review jakob z CAPTURE KILL RELEASE is a small gem of the faux-doc/found footage/cinema verite horror genre. The plot is simple, an unhinged couple decide to find the perfect victim and murder them. For the sake of discovery and surprises I'll leave it at that for the virginal viewer. What really makes this work are the two outstanding performances by Farhang Ghajar and Jennifer Fraser. Fraser in particular is incredibly captivating and horrifying, and yet she is never less than watchable and engaging. But Ghajar doesn't follow far behind as a man watching his significant others obsessions take the best of her. Grisly, perversely funny (they discuss murder as casually as we discuss films, and her thorough glee in taking part is disturbingly captivating). CKR is an example of horror done right, by keeping it simple, and never once lagging in morbid interest. Not for the weak of stomach or heart, and the ending is slightly disappointing not to mention a leap in logic that is a bit far fetched. Otherwise this is a sharp, nasty, little entertainment that will have you squirming, cringing, and maybe just a tad queasy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
