Audience Member I liked the premise of this film- I'm sure there were several scams involving "Carbon tax scams" (or VAT ) regulations that were (and maybe still being used to avoid paying "value added taxes" by companies that were exceeding carbon emission standards in Europe and other places as well..This film may have embellished the truth somewhat , but it did make for an entertaining French crime flick...I was impressed by the ultra-cool cynical ending as well... Au bout de quelques minutes, on a compris à ce qu'on a à faire : un film de gangster aussi vieux jeu que tout bonnement incompétent. Les personnages sont taillés à la serpe : le bon gars poussé au crime, le baron de la pègre, le bon copain, le junkie qui menace de tout faire capoter, la copine qui ne sert qu'à prendre des coups dans la gueule... Il n'y a rien de surprenant durant toute la durée du film et cela pose assez problème, surtout quand les dialogues sont aussi assommants de nullité et la mise en scène pachydermique. C'est dommage, car Marchal s'est associé à un casting plutôt compétent, lui. Michael Youn et Gringe sont très bons à contre-emploi, tandis que Benoit Magimel et Gérard Depardieu se battent avec un texte abominable. Carbone n'est pas un échec total, mais on s'en approche.
