Dave D A very daring film for its time (1964). It departs from the typical teen angst dramas of the day to offer a frank portrait of peer pressure on youths. It also offers a window into the sexual pressures of the early era of the Pill, when the values of the late 1950s run headlong into the increasing sexual activity of the 1960s. Free-flowing camera work (by RM Bellamy) and a jazz score (by Jack Dale) add energy to the story. Kent's second feature in his "Vancouver trilogy," was successfully distributed in the USA under the title "Caressed." Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
