The Carson City Kid (Roy Rogers) stops stagecoaches traveling between Wild West mining towns, searching their mail sacks for letters addressed to Morgan Reynolds, the man who killed his brother. Discovering that Reynolds operates a saloon under the name Lee Jessup (Bob Steele), the Kid takes a job as the saloon's bouncer. While vying with Reynolds for the affections of singer Joby Madison (Pauline Moore), the Kid discovers a swindled miner (Noah Beery Jr.) who claims to be the Carson City Kid.

Audience Member Roy Rogers sings and acts the hero of the West. i like his style, voice, and athleticism. Bob Steele is a tough and ruthless bad guy with piercing dark eyes. Well done. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member 141112: It's funny how many times Gabby Hayes upstages Roy Rogers in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I like Rogers but Hayes is one memorable character. The story is a bit weak, and I found it slow to start, but once going it's all good.
