Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic Caucus makes a return trip to Iowa a welcome journey. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 2, 2013 Full Review Geoff Berkshire Variety Schnack's observational approach studiously avoids editorializing, allowing the words and actions captured by the cameras to speak for themselves. Nov 7, 2013 Full Review Andrew O'Hehir Salon.com This gripping and grotesque portrait of retail politics in the Hawkeye State, entirely free of editorial commentary, locates truths about the contemporary Republican Party and our flawed electoral system that a more tendentious account never could. Nov 7, 2013 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest Like the character who finds the most success in "Caucus," the film's path to victory is paved by its attention to detail and staying small. Nov 22, 2018 Full Review Christopher Campbell Nonfics Perfectly captures the chaos of the caucus circus while delivering a different kind of political campaign doc, from the crowd rather than the candidate(s)' bus or war room. Rated: 4/5 May 30, 2014 Full Review Barbara Vancheri Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Caucus allows moviegoers to tag along, like a silent observer forbidden from asking questions, in the run-up to the Iowa Caucus in January 2012. Audience Member It's fascinating to see these guys in their "off camera" personas suddenly put forward their artificial selves in front of live and taped audiences. They essentially are saying the same thing but are desperate to sell themselves as different. It allows the view to judge and support or condemn their actions. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I always assumed hardcore conservatives were bat $h!+ crazy, this documentary proves it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member It was a frequently funny behind-the-scenes view of the characters who made up the Republican hopefuls in the 2008 Iowa caucuses. You don't need to be a political junkie to enjoy the film.
