Ed Travis Hollywood Jesus Caught Inside is a small film that absolutely hinges on the riveting performance of Ben Oxenbould as Bull. This guy is an intimidating nightmare and the remote location of the island paradise increases his threat. Apr 3, 2020 Full Review Peter Galvin sbs.com.au On one level, it's pure visceral filmmaker, a necessary bloodletting, and yet, it feels a little phoney and not quite right. By movie's end, the characters no longer feel real -- they're just figures, playing a movie game. Rated: 2.5/5 Oct 6, 2011 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) So when Caught Inside finally descends into an expected them-versus-him free-for-all in the final act, it is Oxenbould's wickedly wonky way with an improvised line that keeps the whole thing fresh. Rated: 3/5 Oct 6, 2011 Full Review Erin Free FILMINK (Australia) It's a solid effort all round, but this really belongs to Ben Oxenbould whose brilliantly unhinged performance makes this a truly thrilling experience. Ani B I gave this five stars & all but one are for Ben Oxenbould. His portrayal of Bull was terrifying. I literally felt sick to my stomach watching, but couldn't stop. Definitely reminiscent of Max Cady in Cape Fear, but Oxenbould scared me far more than even DeNiro managed. That was a stunningly raw performance, & I'm surprised I'd never heard of the movie or the actor (even though they're both Aussie, & I'm from the US), he was just....riveting to watch. Holy crap, how will I sleep tonight after watching this? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/04/22 Full Review Audience Member Ben Oxenbould's performance elevates this otherwise run-of-the-mill Australian thriller. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Was able to watch until 20 minutes from the end, when it all became anti-climactic. Potentially good plot becomes implausible, but it could have been salvaged. Pity because the setting and acting are good. Main problem is our incredulity at group's incompetence or pacifity when confronted with main character's villainy. I'd have loved to support this more as the actors do their best in a unique setting, but the script let them down. Comparable to the much better Dead Calm. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious movie. Will certainly make you laugh. Classic crazy guy is finally pushed past his limits leading him to become a viscous killer yet somehow his insanity is comical. Suspenseful but slow building, unexpected comedy is this movie's best attribute. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Thrilling enough but i was too frustrated by the stupidity of the characters to recalling enjoy it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Tense throughout. Beautiful landscape. Nice surprise. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
